THEATER: An award-winning hit at last year's Fringe Festival, Krapp, 39 concerns a 39-year-old actor who, inspired by Samuel Beckett’s solo play Krapp’s Last Tape, decides to follow the title character's example by recording his thoughts on his own life for a future theatrical reflection. Written and performed by Michael Laurence, the show unfolds through "intimate audio tapes, archival video, raw journal entries, haunted letters, racy confessions, and recorded conversations with the living and the lost." The Times's Anita Gates loves it and says "it’s an even funnier, more enlightening experience the second time around." — John Del Signore
