The fashion set know when to strike when the iron is hot, and designer Kenneth Cole has put up a new billboard that is so Winter '09. The simple black and white message isn't a new format for his advertisements, but this one is saluting the Flight 1549 crew, passengers and of course the heroic pilot Captain Sullenberger. Caught by the eagle eyes over at WCBS, it's currently up on West 57th Street and the West Side Highway (right above the Artkraft Strauss building).

It's a nice billboard. No real commercial message attached to it unless you really want to count the name.
Somewhere, Wes Autrey is steaming.
i dont get 99% of these kenneth cole ads. are they trying to send a message? are they trying to be cool and hip?
or do they make billboards like this to get media coverage (or blog coverage like this) and to further their marketing ploys?
what about people who commit suicide in the hudson?
Whoever wrote the copy could have created something less hackneyed than "tough times". Every third commentator has been using this phrase to death, usually coupled with "these tough times".
would competing in the NYC triathlon be considered committing suicide in the Hudson?
um, i don't think so, unless you do it without a wetsuit, because you accidentally ruined your wetsuit running around town delivering brownies or something. but who in their right mind would do that?!
I'm glad it's visible from the Hudson River Landing Strip.
The praise for the crew and passengers is well-deserved. What a difference from two months ago when those frenzied lunatics stormed the Wal-Mart and killed a man. Everybody was calm and collected, with the possible exception of the person who ran to the back of the plane and opened the door that was in the water.
Kenneth Cole = Banana Republic but 30% more expensive and all black and leather = Club Monaco but all black and grey.
KC = BR*1.3
KC = CM/(Black + Grey)
BR*1.3 = CM/(B + G) = D & G
