Ah, the Blizzard of 1888. I remember it so well: the traction companies couldn't get the horsecars out in time to reach the sailcloth shops at Coenties Point so I trudged through the wicked drifts and found my solace at a saloon next to the Western Union Bldg. on Lower Broadway.

How come there were no Nor'easters prior to 1996?

Weren't they just called 'winter storms'then?

Are we falling for the weatherman's hype?

I was thinking the same thing about picture six. It was all the trees that caught my attention. We should be getting back to having tree lined streets.

I'm loving pic #6. I wonder which street it is and how tall those trees have gotten.

The blizzard of '60 looks like kind that no one, not even Jake Gyllenhaal running down a hallway could escape from. Reminds me of what a real Nor'easter is like.
