My Bloody Valentine 3D Moviegoer Stabbed by Security Guard

2009_01_bloodv.jpg Yikes: Newsday reports that after a Sunday night showing of the new horror film "My Bloody Valentine 3D," a security guard stabbed a 16-year-old moviegoer after an argument. Apparently the teen wanted to wait inside the Sunrise Multiplex in Valley Stream for his ride (it's unclear if it's the actual room where the movie was shown or the theater's lobby), but the guard Ricardo Singh wanted moviegoers out. "They pushed and shoved each other, then Singh 'removed a folding knife from his jacket pocket and stabbed the victim in the upper stomach area.'" The teen's wound took six stitches to close and Singh was charged with second-degree assault. Newsday adds that the movie includes "images of body parts, blood and sharp objects appear to hurtle toward the audience" and has the tagline "Nothing says 'date movie' like a 3D ride to hell!" In spite those tempting elements, "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" was number one at the box office.

Valley Stream again. Why couldn't this security guard have been the guy trampled at the Wal-Mart?

Everyone please do yourself a favor and go see Gran Torino, a throwback to the days when movies made you laugh AND cry, carried a message and starred cinema icons who could really act.

What an embarrassing turn of events that on the weekend preceding the inauguration of our first black president, more people went to the cinema to see a piece of sh*t so-called comedy movie starring a second rate comic set in a mall.

Wake the f*ck up people.

I wouldn't read much into that. I think it's safe to say that a lot people are stressed out by all the financial situation, job losses, et cetera... they want something to make them laugh.

Plus it's a PG/family movie versus an R-rated movie. If it makes you feel better, Gran Torino was number 2.

Should everyone should be watching Notorious in honor the inauguration?

It should be noted (surprised Newsday didn't mention it) that the movie theater in question is infamous for being the first in the world to screen theatergoers for weapons. Apparently the guards, however, are free to carry whatever they want.

Valley Stream is the new Staten Island

Maybe Singh pulled his knife in defense, and couldn't return it to its sheath until it has spilled blooooooood.
