Spags Gets His Riches

2009_01_spags2.jpg The Giants suffered a loss off the field on Saturday when the St. Louis Rams decided to hire Steve Spagnuolo as their head coach. Spags came to the Giants from Philadelphia before the 2007 season and quickly built New York into one of the top defenses in the league. After the Giants won the Super Bowl in 2008, Spags became one of the hottest coaching candidates in the game and only returned to New York after they offered him a $3 million deal, huge money for a coordinator. Spagnuolo was also in the running for the Jets job, but it appears they are more focused on Rex Ryan, son of Buddy and the defensive coordinator of the Ravens.
