Last Night's Action: A Slippery Slope

  • Trail Blazers 105, Nets 99: Both teams came off terrible losses, but the Blazers were the only ones to respond. Brandon Roy's 29 outdid Devin Harris' 23 points. Vince Carter played with a slight ankle sprain and put up 13.

The Nets, who had won four straight at home, fell back to two games under .500. They have the Celtics, the Hornets and the Spurs coming up, so this losing streak may not end soon.

  • Bruins 2, Islanders 1: Not even 41 shots were good enough to take down the NHL's best team. Bill Guerin got a goal, but that came with 53.2 seconds left.

Yann Danis played in net again, but the Islanders have made moves to bring back Wade Dubielewicz from Russia. Peter Mannino was called up in the meantime.

Those 41 shots mean nothing. That's quantity, but the Isles shots lacked quality. Nothing new for this team. It's like they have all the tools, but they still don't know to use them.
