Ponzi scheme enthusiast Bernard Madoff has arrived, after an O.J. Simpson-esque media chase, downtown for his 2:30 p.m. bail hearing. But not before a bystander offered a suggestion.

He could bungee jump, grab that sign, spring back, and finish breakfast. A super-stunt for a super-crimminal.

  • Fritzdecat

    Mean?

Are you for real? This bastid stole peoples life savings.

He needs to spend some time in the time in the ice water tank under the direction of Dr. Mengele's Argentine Offspring.

  • Clarice City

That's just mean. What a jerk.

While he didn't act alone, the government needs to finally step up and make an example by punishing this piece of shit. The idea that white collar criminals should be treated with kid gloves b/c nobody was physically injured or killed is bullshit. These pricks ruin the lives of thousands of people (and not just wealthy investors from the Upper East Side; many pensions were entrusted to Madoff) as a result of malicious behavior. It's time to establish a deterent for the suit and tie dreads of society. We can call it the Madoff Douchebag Laws.

I agree. White collar crimes should be eligible for the death penalty. That's why American society keeps producing super smart sociopaths because these smart sociopaths aren't killed off.

That sign needs a big bullseye on it.

  • babyhitler

wait. if he croaks before he is prosecuted won't his assets go to his family and beneficiaries rather than to the government and his claimants a la ken lay from enron?

  • fugothamist

kinda what happened to ken lay?

death would be great for him & his family

we need to keep him alive

So Madoff reads the sign and jumps to his ultimate demise then everyone blames the guy with the sign. The sign guy, wracked with guilt, ends up naked on a ledge holding a neon light bulb after suffering a breakdown. He is then tazed off the ledge by a policeman acting under orders and lands on his head, fortunately on a well placed airbag. He seeks help for his issues, and later returns to his job as a freelance elaborate sign-maker.

    love it.

The Wall Street honchos who tanked the economy tried jumping from buildings but they kept landing on unsuspecting taxpayers.

Madoff will be dead within a year.

He ripped of the Colombians, and the Russians, amongst others. He's being measured for a Colombian necktie already.

He will be lucky if they don't start killing his family members one by one over a span of months.

Of course some people want him dead so he won't talk. Madoff did not act alone and that fact that he is not cooperating and is out on bail only proves that there is a coverups. I bet Madoff doesn't care if he is dead. He already stole and accomplished what he had. His sons and Frank the main account manager and others belong in jail. Also SEC is already planning to pay out $500,000 to individual claims. that is our money. Again we are bailing out the rich. Bloomberg had a lot to say about Plaxico but nothing about Madoff.

Brilliant! One problem though..... It needs to be a little bigger.

  • nomnomnom

That's a great sign! Though I don't know if it would actually solve anything.

    smart man
