Cyclones Move to "Baracklyn" For Special Game in June

011209BARACKLYNflyer.jpg Obama fever hasn't broken yet, at least not in Coney Island, where the Brooklyn Cyclones have announced a special promotion for the upcoming season. On Tuesday, June 23rd the team will be transformed into the Baracklyn Cyclones, "honoring the 44th President of the United States with a night of patriotic partying at the ballpark."

The best part about all this (besides their blog about it) is that the first 2,500 fans in attendance will get souvenir Obama bobbleheads. (Want!) There's also a Joe the Plumber special: Any plumber named Joe gets two free tickets, one for himself, and one to “spread the wealth” with a friend. A "Bi-Partisan Consolation Prize" will get anyone named McCain or Palin a free Bleacher Seat, and, in a move that will probably cost the team nothing, anyone who can prove they're named Barack gets in for free.

Tickets go on sale on Inauguration Day, January 20th, and for the first three days of the sale prices will be “rolled back” to the Cyclones’ inaugural 2001 season rates: $10 Field Box Seats, $8 Box Seats, $5 Bleacher Seats. As for the game, the 'Clones will be facing the dreaded Hudson Valley Renegades from Wappingers Falls; last year on June 24th they bested the home team 3-2 in a game distinguished by a "monotony which carried through to the end," according to the Post.

I'm going to generalize and say that given the audience, I bet alot of those bobbleheads are going to end up smashed on the stadium floor.

Cheap gimmick or not, I kinda want one.

It would be quite funny if by the time the game happens he revealed to be up to his eyeballs in the whole Illinois corruption thing.

Worth the 5 bucks just to go in, get one and then leave.
