Spotted in Williamsburg: Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law

0109downeyholmes.jpg It doesn't take much detective work to find out that the cast and crew of Sherlock Holmes have landed in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Rachel McAdams, and Jude Law, and they're all readying for their close-ups at the Marcy Avenue Armory at 355 Marcy Avenue, according to Filming in Brooklyn who notes the location is the same "where the interiors of Neville’s house were shot for I Am Legend." The NY Post even has some photographic evidence of the two male leads, and report back that "the Hollywood heavyweights were dressed in 19th-century period wear yesterday...Law sporting a distinguished mustache." The movie, which is actually set in London, is being directed by Guy Ritchie, but at least he's got the Williamsburg Bridge to separate him from his ex and A-Rod.

Good to hear that it's being filmed in nyc rather than fricking toronto.

Are we absolutely sure that Downey isn't like his character in Tropic Thunder? That character was a white Aussie who believed he could play a black character. Here, Downey is an American who believes he can play an English character, after playing that aforementioned Australian character (playing an African American). I'm so confused.

Brilliant casting. Too bad Schwarzenegger was unavailable.

now just don some earbuds and stroll down bedford he might just disappear among the styled up douches

Will there be any gargantuan, steam-punk spiders in this...ahem...faithful adaptation.

Add one more cokehead to the Williamsburg population.
