Spider-Man and Barack Obama Meet, Fist Bump

0109spideybarack.jpg Comic book nerds and fans of Barack Obama: get psyched. USA Today reports that on January 14th, "Marvel Comics is releasing a special issue of Amazing Spider-Man #583 with Obama depicted on the cover. Inside are five pages of the two teaming up and even a fist-bump between Spidey and the new president." It's been speculated that Obama has an inner comic book geek underneath his presidential suits, and he even mentioned the webbed one during his campaigning. Presidents have appeared in comics before, and Marvel says, "This is not so much a pro-Obama statement but a tip of the hat to having a Spider-Man fan in the White House." Related: Stephen Colbert left Spider-Man #573 on his shelf for President-elect Obama to come and get.

Spidey is devastated when Obama tells him that he's just appointed the Green Goblin Attorney General.

Ides, i realize you were joking but...
you'd be amazed at how close your comment is to the actual story in the comic books right now... the former Green Goblin is basically the head of Homeland Security.
/nerd.

Hmmmm. Maybe I should apply for a writer's job. I also plan on Spidey getting back at Obama by squirting a web over his teleprompter screen during his inauguration speech causing the messiah to morph into a stammering Ralph Kramden "humminah, humminah, humminah....."

Spidey is a Democrat, you know. He's loving the O-bomb.

My last comment was meant to be in response to Idea of March. Something went screwy.

Looks like Obama has turned into Will Smith.

Man I love these special edition issues. Except for the special "sexual abuse" issue in which we learn that peter parker was touched by his male babysitter in his bathing suit area when he was a kid. and this is a real issue. Grossed me out for weeks.

Obama is a better actor than Will Smith.

I have the Caroline Kennedy comic book: her super power is the ability to torment the bad guys by saying "ya know, ya know" incessently to them till they can't take it any more and slit their own wrists.

maybe obama should be in the avengers movie

I mean "Ides"

I'm hanging up my hat for the day...

Jeez, pandering much? He's only the President, not the messiah.

I'm finding it very inappropriate that he's being treated like a celebrity instead of the leader of the most powerful nation on the planet.

That only meant to be posted once... this system seems more prone to bugs since the site update.
