  • From the Gothamist Newsmap: An armed robbery/foot pursuit at Trinity & Westchester in the Bronx, an evidence search on Glenmore Ave in Brooklyn and a hazmat near W 145th St & Broadway in Manhattan.
  • Seven hospitals in NY State, including three in NYC, scammed Medicaid "through unlicensed drug-treatment programs that admitted patients who weren't addicts, gave kickbacks for referrals, and even lured street people into medical beds with beer," according to the Post.
  • A state judge upheld the building permit for the Trump Soho.
  • Cute: The Obama transition team releases photographs of the President-elect and the future First Lady getting their daughters ready for their first day of school in D.C.
  • Neighbors claim they're "cabanas" (and in violation of building laws), but a Brooklyn developer says that the many little structures on the roof of a rental building are just elevator bulkheads.
  • A New Jersey man has been arrested for manslaughter for accidentally shooting his wife with a pellet gun he used to hunt squirrels.
  • John Gotti Jr. wants to be free on bail while awaiting his latest trial.
  • The Jets may not have given up on former Super Bowl coaches to lead their team quite yet. Former Ravens coach Brian Billick is scheduled to get the next interview for the job.
  • Artie Lange didn't show up to his gig on Howard Stern's show and it turns out he was in rehab/detox in Miami. More at Mark's Friggin, but know this: He's lost 20 pounds.
  • Bill Murray still may be partying late, but at least in Neil Young and the guys from Wilco, he's found some friends his own age.
  • And in a game against the Capitals this weekend, the Rangers' Marc Staal got mixed up in what Buzzfeed calls "A Sissy Fight."
