Here are our picks for the top stories that affected NYC and our state this year. It's been a very eventful year.
Hudson Yards Deal Collapse/Resurrection, May 8 & May 19: A real West Side Story, though one of development and billion dollar dreams. But then, on May 8, the MTA announced its dealings with Tishman Speyer had reached an "impasse". The Bloomberg administration said that the long-gestating plan to develop the area wasn't dead and sure enough, on May 19, Related and Goldman Sachs stepped into the breach. But in November, the MTA announced slow paperwork was delaying the signing of the contract. Stay tuned! You missed the best story of the year... How can you not include the President's near death by shoe? Love him or hate him that had to be one of the top three by my estimate.
