Cowher Not Interested in Jets Job

2008_12_cowher.jpg After changing reports about whether he'd speak to the Jets, former Steelers coach Bill Cowher told Gang Green no thanks. The team issued a statement at 11 p.m. last night, "After reaching out to coach Cowher's representatives, we were informed that he is not a candidate for the position." A source tells Newsday's Bob Glauber talks "never advanced to the point of scheduling a formal interview. Material items such as [front-office] structure, money and length of contract were never discussed." The spotlight is now on the Giants' defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo (Glauber calls him "brilliant") and the Daily News reports he "will interview Saturday for the job." And last night, the Broncos fired Mike Shanahan. We guess we'll have to wait until 2009 to see what happens.
