  • From the Gothamist Newsmap: A shooting at 146 Ave & 228 St in Queens, an armed residential robbery on Ellery St in Brooklyn and an all hands on E 58 St in Manhattan.
  • A toddler escaped injury when his mother was shot during an apparent dispute in Brooklyn. Two other men were also injured.
  • Winds are expected to go up to 50 mph, so the Department of Buildings is stepping up inspections today.
  • A family visiting from Puerto Rico was injured when an apparently drunk driver hit their car, which then overturned.
  • A wanted criminal was apprehended yesterday; the Post reports, "During his latest spree, ex-con Anthony Califano, 45, is suspected of ripping off his own boyhood nanny, slamming a woman in the eye with a metal pipe, and assaulting another woman with a mop handle."
  • Daily Intel says that Sarah Palin's new grandson Tripp has a lot of weight on his newborn shoulders. For instance, he needs "to be so adorable that he can compete with the blinding, raw magnetism of his father, Sex on Skates."
  • Midtown Lunch puts out the Festivus Pole and lets readers air their grievances.
  • And a thief, in the middle of stripping cars for parts with two other people, accidentally dialed 911 on his cell phone (which was in his pocket). The 911 operator called the police and GPS was used to find the trio.
