Territoriality is an issue in all of NYC, IN DEED.

I have lived in various cities including some here in the USA, and NYC has a very aggressive (no need for that) mentality, and this is not related to merely ethnic background...Countries on the developing world are way more welcoming and peaceful than this Mecca of the god dollar...people just can't see beyond it

The problem with this TARGET is also a matter of public planing AND management, how is it possible that there is only one type of Target store in such a densely populated area? I mean is no secret that Brooklyn has not the same supply of necessary goods that Manhattan has, but it seems that it is all in order. This city is far from perfect.

While I've never been to the Brooklyn Target, the stores that I have been to (in Westchester and Rockland) can be pretty crazy too but also, Target is known to jump the gun clearing out sections prepping for the next big holiday waaaay too early. They also clearance the hell out of stuff shortly after they reach the shelves.

Unhelpful staff is not just limited to the city though. In about any Target you'll see about 15 employees just standing around while there are only three registers open.

I only went to the Atlantic Center Target once and it was a total disaster: empty shelves, unhelpful staff, messes everywhere...

However, the Target in Marble Hill (first stop on the 1 in the Bronx, just over the Harlem River) is pretty nice.

This store is always a disgrace, but not sure that it is completely to do with the managers. The people that shop here act as though they have never seen a store before. They let their children run wild, they are rude, and make a mess of it themselves. People are gross. This is why I can't go to any Targets in NYC. It is never a pleasant shopping experience. There's only so much management can do when your customers behave like animals.

"I think the Russians who reside in Brooklyn may have brought ol' Soviet style shopping back with a vengeance to the US. "

Yeah I'll bet it was the Russians. Not the blacks who make up 90% of the Atlantic Center and run wild through the mall.

this target looks exactly the same every day at 6pm!

Is the construction of Target stores subject to city approval?

It is very clear that Brooklyn might have a need for decent stores...The (dis)proportion of stores in Manhattan vs Brooklyn is absurd. It is another sign of the classism of NYC. There is a clear demand, for all sorts of products and services but somehow it is not fulfilled whatsoever.

What's the deal with those 2003 sweatshirts in the second photo? No wonder they didn't sell! They should be at a Goodwill store by now!

Tar baby, while I would prefer you limit your comments to non-racial slurs, I must agree. It is one of the worst run stores I've ever seen. On slow days the shelves are empty and sloppy.

The management at this particular Target needs to be fired. I've searched for items there that have been out of stock for WEEKS. I've done their job for them a few times by letting them know what I've been looking for is out and within a couple of days it would be on the shelves.

Bunch of monkeys work at that store. I'm sorry, I'd bet monkeys would probably do a better job.
