I'm all for clubbing baby seals and al--but harpooning dolphins is out of line. That is truly sick and disgusting. Next you'd be encouraging bonsai kittens. Shame on you, Peter.

I work as an accounting consultant and a little over a year ago I worked for a company that was just going public and had to reconcile a backlog of (I kid you not) 3-5 THOUSAND uncashed paychecks.

Most were first or last weeks (when you're still in transition and haven't got that direct-deposit thingie figured out). there were easily a few thousand that had to be paid over to the state.

My point is: CHECK THAT LIST! Of course you don't remember you were owed that check, otherwise you would have tracked it down and cashed it.

And if you get a few hundred (thousand?) out of this advice, donate 1% to Mighty Mutts as my commission.

My harpooning is getting more and more accurate.

Hmmm? Dina Wein-Reis. I think I see a pattern forming here.
