A mother of four jumped out of a moving SUV in Queens Friday night to escape riding alongside a drunk driver only to die upon the impact of her fall. Judy Bucherri of Valley Stream was heading out for a night with friends when she began arguing with the driver of the vehicle, Sandy Levine of Forest Hills. Levine was arrested at the site of the accident on 164th Street and Underhill Avenue and charged with a DUI as well as a felony drug charge when cops discovered a pound of marijuana in the back of his car. The Post says that the argument stemmed from Bucherri thinking that Levine was drunk, while Newsday reports the driver's story is that they were simply arguing over where to go for the evening. They also report that Levin's breathalyzer reading was 0.058.

....
Perhaps they should check Bucherri's blood alcohol level as well.
sounds like a lovers quarrel.
"Dumbass"??
Niiiiice, Sensitivity so close to the holidays...
A pound, Sandy? WTF?
Dum-dum-head! Only thing I disagree is that Darwin Award should be off-limits to those who already procreated.
Ah, sensitivity. Rhymes with Nativity. Which sounds like naivete.
The world would be a lot better if we didn't pay lip service to being nice only during the holidays. Though I think better a world full of curmudgeons than one full of do-gooders.
I sense a lot of fucking heartless scumbags trolling about this story...
Wait until the car stops at a light to jump out.
.058 is not drunk or DUI, that begins at .08. Was the one pound bag a little light?
The woman watched too much TV thinking that she could jump out of moving car. Even if it's going 10 MPH that is going to hurt. Especially if you are stoned or drunk.
Despite all the action, WTF IS THAT A PICTURE OF?!?!?!?
The picture is of the driver of the car.
I'm confused. If she died when she hit the ground, how does anyone know that she jumped out because she thought he was drunk? Were there others in the car? Was she on the phone with someone?
Perhaps if I read the linked stories, this will make some more sense?
Whitecastlerock, you expected better from MFer? Especially anyone who brings up a Darwin Award. Those people feel good about themselves by laughing that they haven't made fatal mistakes. It's all schadenfreude to them. Why should they care about the four newly motherless kids?
Ah it looks like the Darwin award comment got deleted by our newly sensitive Gothamist editors. Thus, in case anyone missed it, here is the definition of a Darwin Award:
"The Awards honor people who ensure the long-term survival of the human race by removing themselves from the gene pool in a sublimely idiotic fashion"
And yes, jumping out of a moving car and landing upon ones small brain to avoid the danger of a slightly buzzed driver qualifies.
It was too bad she was a breeder indeed, as she could have saved her crackbabies 20 years of cognitive therapy.
