Kennedy let Time Magazine know she''s interested in Person of the Year. She's got the Kennedy ego.

I missed a few elections myself so I'm no "perfect citizen" but I bet I'd make a better senator than at least a hundred other people (who aren't in prison). Either way, It's a crappy choice to have just Caroline or Andrew Cuomo. I'd still prefer a little Upstate in DC and I think Brian Higgins is the sleeper candidate that takes this nasty ego blimp shitshow off the stage. And what if Caroline got the seat and did a so-so job? The Democrats would still have to throw everything behind her in the future race because she's a Kennedy. It's just better that she get training wheels before saddling up for the Tour De Senate.

Your point exactly?

Not my point. You wrote this:

If voting only means voting when you are assured victory or in close elections, then you are not serious about the political process.

My point is one vote makes no difference when you're already assured victory, so it's not worth bringing up as Billy did. And if you can't understand what losing by a margin of almost 200,000 votes means in a race where 4.6 million NYers voted, nobody can explain it to you.

Can someone refer to one thing "thefacts" has gotten right on Gothamist, ever? Gotcha!

Will 'spirit76' please refer to one thing that Caroline the K has done - without his referring to wikipedia.

Gotcha!

"Why should anybody vote if they're already assured victory?"

Your point exactly? Then why vote at all.

First of all nobody is ever assured of anything. I mean, you are not telling me that in '94 ALL elections went to Republicans, are you? So what exactly are you talking about.

Your moniker is obviously not well chosen. Try Spiritof17.

Then what were you referring to as "lashing out," Mr. EastRiver? Everything I wrote was nothing but true statements. He can run in four years. He wants to abandon his AG office for the Senate. One vote wouldn't have kept Mario in office in '94 since he lost by almost 200,000, so it wasn't worth bringing up in the article. Billy is in his 20s, so he probably doesn't remember that there was a nationwide Republican landslide 14 years ago. If you weren't countering any of those statements, then exactly what were you referring to? Never mind. I know I can't expect a straight answer from you.

Ha, ha. EastRiver just disemboweled Spiritof76 in 2 sentences.

Yeah, whatever. Funny that my bowels are quite intact, thank you very much. You've already proven on numerous occasions that your moniker is well-chosen. Why should anybody vote if they're already assured victory? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard, but par for your comments. You're a loser if you don't vote? All the McCain voters would be happy to hear they're winners. Why should they care about '94? Ask Billy Parker. He's the one who wrote it in the article.

Ha, ha. EastRiver just disemboweled Spiritof76 in 2 sentences.

Now I'll pile on with a few more. It's your fucking goddamn American duty to vote your conscience, in spite of political climate. If voting only means voting when you are assured victory or in close elections, then you are not serious about the political process. Who the fuck cares about '94? Vote. That is what you do in this democratic republic. Else you are just a loser--or a Kennedy.

Are you saying Cuomo can't run in four years? Are you saying Cuomo is completely happy being AG and never had aspirations for a higher office? That her vote could have defeated Pataki if only she'd gone to the polls? That the Republican Revolution didn't happen in '94?

Actually, I didn't say any of those things. Those were the voices in your head.

Get real. You call that "lashing out"? Are you saying Cuomo can't run in four years? Are you saying Cuomo is completely happy being AG and never had aspirations for a higher office? That her vote could have defeated Pataki if only she'd gone to the polls? That the Republican Revolution didn't happen in '94? As I've said before, you stink as much as your namesake. Okay, now that last was lashing out. :-P

Why is Spiritof76 such a rabid Kennedy supporter? He/she can't handle the slightest commentary on the subject without lashing out.

Oh, quit whining, Andy. If she's as much of a disaster as you think, you can run against her in four years. Or was AG just a stepping stone for you, the way people complain that Hillary was really angling for the Presidency all along?

Caroline didn't even bother leaving the house to vote when her then cousin-in-law's father Mario was voted out of the governor's office in 1994.

Yeah, I'm sure her one vote would have made all the difference in 1994 when Republicans steamrolled the opposition around the country. Remember that time, Billy? No, you're probably too young. Things look different when there's historical context around them.

Andy should have spoken up more if he wants it. You snoozes, you loses. That said he's much more preferable to Caroline Kennedy with much more legislative experience.

I'll take Bush 2 over Caroline as Senator!!

How about another Carolyn? Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney of the East Side, a real Democrat who actually worked an honest day in her life.

The Times ran a Q & A with Caroline Kennedy, essentially giving her exposure not available to anyone else. Gee, I wonder why.
