Staten Island Gets MTV Treatment, Part 2

sigirl1208.jpgIs a sequel to True Life: I'm a Staten Island Girl in the making? A miniseries, perhaps? Maybe Christmas wishes do come true, because the SI Live blog is reporting that MTV is holding a casting call during the busy holiday season at the Staten Island Mall this weekend (more specifically the GUESS store from 2 to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday). The network is looking to find "everyday kids [18 to 20 years old] that are fun, cute and lead interesting lives" for a new 20-episode show that begins taping next month. The site also notes that MTV is keeping quiet for now, but "it's safe to say viewers can expect it to be along the lines of the de-funked TRL," as it will feature both pre-filmed and live segments. Staten Island: where MTV shows go when they die? Oh, and Manhattanites, you need not apply—the casting agent specified they don't want your kind. It's like opposite day!

They are setting up in a GUESS store. For crissakes that's like shooting fish in a barrel!

the writer from silive.com is the one who wrote the "de-funked show." truly a sad moment in educational history when a writer from a large newspaper (surely college educated) pens something like that.

What could possibly be film worthy over in that cesspool of Staten Island?

That's really funny... because I thought the writer actually meant "de-funked". I was like "TRL with less funk AND the guy got a pun in there... nice." But I guess he/she is actually just an idiot.

Read "everyday kids" as guidos and guid-hoes.
Everyone knows how etertaining they are to watch on television, especially on MTV.

Nothing funnier then a bunch of transplanted white trash commenting on Staten Island.
