Rectal Exam Prank Phone Caller Arrested

2008_12_phoner.jpgWhatever happened to "Is your refrigerator running"? A prank phone caller who convinced a woman to give herself a rectal exam was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated harassment. The Staten Island Advance explains 49-year-old construction worker John Brady allegedly admitted he "would go through the phone book and pick random numbers and make telephone calls." Claiming to be from a doctor's office, Brady would then (allegedly) tell the person to perform a rectal exam while staying on the phone with him. One woman realized after her self-exam that the caller "did not represent a medical establishment" and the authorities tracked Brady down. The Advance says Brady, who faces up to a year in jail if convicted, has been arrested for previous harassing phone calls "but it's not clear if he's accused of pulling the same prank during those calls as well."

But just think of how many lives he may have saved had they noticed a lump. lol

Guess he made an ass out of her.

badumbum.

Seriously though, people actually fall for stunts like this?

If someone told me to give myself a rectal exam on the phone, why wouldn't I hang up?

I know of a lawyer who was also arrested for a similar sick prank about ten years ago.

He would call up hospitals posing as a doctor and request the nurses to give so and so patient an enema.

this guy needs his own radio show.

and seriously, how can you possibly be that gullible?

A year in jail. Really??

'Hello, 'mam? This is Stan Jones from the local cola bottling plant and we're testing the size of our bottles. Could I spare a moment of your time?'

Patient: Hello this is Mary.
Doc: Hi this is Dr. Anoos.
Patient: Hello Doctor.
Doc: Stick your finger in your ass.
Patient: Excuse me?
Doc: do you need an excuse? Stick it in your
ass.
Patient: I am sorry are you my doctor?
Doc: I don't think you understand what I am
telling you...STICK YOUR FINGER IN YOUR
ASS.
Patient: OK.
Doc: Ha ha shit finger. click.

Those the are the same people who fall for the many scams found on the Internet and those who get viruses and tons of spyware loaded on their computer.

Classic example of social engineering. People just assume the guy is someone of authority and do what they are told.

Read this Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strip_search_prank_call_scam

"These incidents involved a man calling a restaurant, claiming to be a police detective, and convincing managers to conduct strip-searches of female employees. "

These are the same people who actually respond to spam messages. The world is full of morons like this.

this woman's problem is far DEEPER than not having caller ID

my god, we've all been victims of john brady's "prostate exam." well, gentleman, the abuse stops here. i will not turn a brown eye to this. i am gonna sue that bastard and make him pay out the ass. no ifs, ands, or buts. i'm gonna be really anal about this.

sphincter.

If we fall for this, what chance to we have vs. Ponzi Schemers?

A telemarketer can call and convince elderly people to spend their scarce hard-earned cash on some bullshit product or service they don't need WITHOUT BEING CHRGED WITH ANY CRIME yet a phone hoaxter is arrested for this shit?

You American war criminals really are STUPID.

So if he was "part of the medical establishment" it would have been OK?
It's like "If the president does it it's not illegal"
Completely obsequious to authority.
I bet this woman would have been a great NAZI- "I was just following orders!"

I wonder if he advised her to put a glove on first.

I don't know why they're raising such a stink. Perhaps, they need to point the finger at someone else.

Paging Lou Sanis to the white courtesy phone.

Said victim was probably disappointed because she didn't get her long-awaited, anonymous phone sex.

How can anyone fall for this one???
