Footloose.jpgMOVIE: Raspberry Beret Presents: Footloose at Union Hall. "Do you miss Mystery Science Theater 3000? Jerm Pollet and the comedians in his band of Raspberry Brothers tour art cinemas, independent theaters and college campuses nationwide with microphones in hand, screening bad movies and mocking them throughout." HOLD UP, Footloose is not a bad movie (fine, maybe it didn't age well). Anyway, go, laugh, cry, dance...do whatever you want, it's what Ren McCormack fought for after all.

7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. // Union Hall [702 Union St, Brooklyn] // $12

EVENT: Director Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem for a Dream) will be at the Apple store in SoHo tonight giving fans the first chance to hear about the making of the The Wrestler (which had its nation-wide premier yesterday). There will be an audience Q&A, but sadly, there are no rumors of Mickey Rourke showing up.

7 p.m. // Apple Store SoHo [103 Prince St] // Free

THEATER: According to The New Yorker, actor Andrea Reese "channels" Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in her one-woman show Cirque Jacqueline, and "the upshot is a character of both charm and substance." In town for two nights only, the show reveals "the real Jackie who hid beneath a carefully constructed public persona, covering her childhood with a womanizing father and abusive mother, her joys and struggles within her marriage to Jack Kennedy, her trauma during and after the assassination, her scandalous marriage to Aristotle Onassis and her blossoming interests and loves during the last decades of her life." The Boston Globe calls it "a circus, but it’s the quietly dignified solo act in the center ring that’s most memorable." – John Del Signore

7:30 p.m. // The Players Theatre Loft [115 MacDougal St, 3rd Fl] // $20

MUSIC: If you can't make it over to Hoboken to see the Lemonhead's Evan Dando (swoon), then hit up Glasslands for The Fakers, Iran (with TV on the Radio's Kyp Malone), (Lone) Wolf and Cub. The venue looks like it was decorated by Ken Kesey's Merry Pranksters and a bunch of steampunk drop-outs—so it'll be visually stimulating as well as aurally. Oh, and it's free.

8 p.m. // Glasslands [289 Kent Ave, Williamsburg] // Free

Footloose is beyond bad and I LOVE cheesey 80s movies. Anytime you have a plot that revolves around a community ban on dancing combined with random outburts of dancing in a barn with old farm tools, you're going to get...okay, I see your point, it's a good movie.
