Surely we've seen enough film and TV actors flame out on Broadway to find this news unsurprising. Eight shows a week is physically demanding, and does not allow much time for partying. I once met the actor who stood by for all 4 leads in SPAMALOT; early in the run, he went on five or six times a week, when his better-known colleagues suffered vocal strain, twisted ankles, sheer fatigue. These complaints were clearly legit -- THE PRODUCERS, with a similar degree of physical comedy, excused its stars from most matinees. But the SPAMALOT crew learned how to pace themselves and fulfilled their contracts. Piven knew or should have known what he was signing on for. Mamet speaks for me.

dr. coker did you mean? this should be a lesson to everyone raping the seas as they shove blue fin tuna in their mouths... mercury poisoning is common, the more money you have, the more likely you are to have high mercury levels... until the blue fin are gone in a few years.

a friend of mine had mercury poisoning from eating too much fish. i'm sure people will make fun of him cause he's an actor & they're haters but i believe the doctor. (kudos for mentioning Mad Men & Elisabeth Moss. that show is amazing!!)
