Muppets Meet Santa, Bloomberg Tonight

A brand spankin' new Muppets movie is coming to the small screen tonight (they were filming in Park Slope as recently as September). Letters to Santa stars all the muppets (according to Miss Piggy in the below behind-the-scenes clip), and has appearances by Mayor Bloomberg (as himself), Uma Thurman, Nathan Lane, Whoopi Goldberg (as a cab driver) and 30 Rock's Jane Krakowski. According to the Washington Post, one of our mayor's lines is: "the one thing New Yorkers are known for is being polite."

The muppets on Sesame Street last week were mum about the new holiday flick, but here's a little spoiler alert/lesson on North Pole wifi: "According to muppet Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, Santa can't read e-mail because of interference in his neighborhood caused by the Aurora Borealis." Catch it tonight on NBC at 8 p.m., and read more about it here.

I love how all the Muppets are wearing cozy Fair Isle-ish sweaters. They probably bought them at the kids' dept.

If you look at the picture closely, you realize that Mayor Mike is not that much taller than miss Piggy.

I hope the muppets kick Bloomberg's ass

The Muppets seem to have lost their edge. The songs were terrible.

Bloomberg was probably at fault for the muppets poor performance

I agree. Jake is making the Extra Extras more thick than say 3-4 bold ones.
