  • Washington 5 Islanders 4 (OT): The Islanders kept fighting back and back all night and their efforts were rewarded with a point. Jon Sim tied the game with just over three minutes remaining and sent things to overtime. But, Alex Ovechkin won it for Washington with 10 seconds remaining in the extra period.
  • Toronto 3 Devils 2 (Shootout) New Jersey had a great chance in overtime that they couldn’t convert and when Brian Rolston missed in the shootout, they fell to Toronto.
  • Rangers 3 Anaheim 1: The game was scoreless after 1, but Chris Drury scored in the 2nd period and Chris Kunitz got the equalizer, also in the 2nd period. Nigel Dawes scored the go-ahead goal with less than 4 minutes to play and Nikolai Zherdev added an empty-net goal to seal the deal.
  • Lakers 116 Knicks 114: The Knicks led the Lakers by 15 at the half, but Los Angeles cut that to 4 at the end of 3 quarters. The two teams traded baskets down the stretch, but Trevor Ariza (remember him Knicks' fans?) put the Lakers ahead for good with a layup and Derek Fisher hit three free throws down the stretch to win the game. Stephon Marbury was at the game — not as a starter, not on the bench, but as a spectator at the Staples Center!

Sigh, close game. Totally was worth watching though. Go Knicks!

At least the Isles finally got a point!
