Of course: There's some backlash to the Caroline Kennedy-for-Senate backlash! Democratic strategist Joseph Mercurio tells the Daily News the Kennedy backlash has "been a little vicious. It's a little over the top," while an "influential" yet anonymous Democrat points out, "How many freshman senators at the bottom of the seniority list can pick up the phone and get the President?" (Kennedy was a big Obama supporter.) Earlier this week, Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus wrote about the Kennedy legacy and suggests, "A fitting coda to this modern fairy tale to have the little princess grow up to be a senator," but political consultant Hank Sheinkopf put it bluntly to Newsday: "Camelot, schmamelot. This is not a business for nice people -- this is a business for warriors." At any rate, Governor Paterson is reportedly close to making a decision about the Senate seat—but he won't announce it till Hillary Clinton vacates the seat.

She's as qualified to be a Senator as Barry is to be a President.
You know it. I know it. We all know it.
Why doesn't Patterson just stick the seat on eBay. That way the state could make some money off of it.
Or you could have a vote, you know in an election, like they usually do in democracies.
My sentiments exactly Unregistered Wiseguy. Kennedy crime family belongs in Mass, not here. NY isn't corrupt enough to absorb a spill-over of power-seeking Kennedys (Kennedies?). Lest we become like
a poor W.Va plantation/state represented by a really rich guy named John "Jay"Rockefeller.
Psychopaths often identify with the warrior archetype from what I've read. I think American's are truly sadomasochists, if after the ast eight years, they think in anyway that politics is for "warriors."
she's no less qualified than her predecessor was when she was "awarded" the seat (oh yeah, I mean elected, if you count running unopposed in a primary fair play). Its was a joke then and its a joke now. She can serve for a few years and then run for president.
Nydia Velasquez!
