Police Search for Teen's Stabber

2008_12_quino.jpgThe police released a photograph of the driver suspected of slashing a teen who put his bookbag on a BMW in the Bronx. Gabriel Quinones (pictured) remains in the hospital after being slashed on the face and neck; his lung was also punctured. The 16-year-old told the Daily News that he was just "leaning" on Kwame Ferguson's BMW, "I apologized, and he started cursing... I thought he was punching me, and I punched him back. I did not know I had been cut until my friend said, 'Oh, my God - you're bleeding!'" After a witness provided the license number for the BMW, police tracked down Ferguson, who told the police he would turn himself in later. Perhaps not that shockingly, Ferguson never did and the police are now asking for the public's help in finding him. UPDATE: Ferguson was arrested in Brooklyn today.

Some of you guys are reading an awful lot into the simple action of a kid leaning on a car.

  • ktanksore

The little shit of a kid put his back pack on the car likes he crosses the street - like the baddast mamajamma in NYC. He will now be very cool - as he was trying to be - with that big ass gash of a scar on his face. I would have been completelly incensed as well. That is why I do not carry knives.

Chief Wiggum in charge of the NYPD now?

  • nik13

Kwame may be a black Irish.

There must be more to the story. Last week I saw some scraggy Spanish kid squeezing his zits against a flipped side mirror of a car parked outside John Jay College. Had that been my car, I'd have used a tire iron to help him rid of remaining pus.

  • SomethingBetter

I bet that kid won't lean on somebody's car again.

  • whitecastlerock

They must have told him to watch his ass so he went on the lam... good thing the men in blue got their man!

  • JacqueMehoff

and drives on parkways and parks on driveways.

  • Billiamsburg

bet he parks in bike lanes.

WTF? A guy stabs a kid, the police find him, and they let him turn himself in later?

What the hell were the cops thinking?

  • jt10000

People take cars way too seriously. So someone puts a bookbag on your car, big deal? It's not like they spit on you. But to some people, it's a personal affront.

I leave our car on the street and see people leaning on it all the time. It's just a car.

Police - "Hey you're under arrest"

Stabber dude - "Not now, i'm busy. I'll turn myself in later"

    Police "Promise?"

    Stabber dude - "Yes!.......(suckers)"

    ^Nice job, nice job!

  • nice job

I can't really sympathize with either party in this story. One was being a little jerk and the other was being a bigger jerk. Moral of the story: Don't be a jerk.

  • inoyourider

and the check's in the mail

  • MissPinkKate

I don't understand why allowing the suspect to turn himself in later would be an option? This isn't parking tickets- he's accused of stabbing somebody.

  • grandzu

    Riiiiiiight....he apologized.

  • captainblackout

i am confused...he said he would turn himself in later? wtf does that mean? also, does this mean they were talking to him and didn't take him into custody? did he call them at the precinct or something?

    this doesn't make any sense.
