Cops Made Multiple Drug Buys from FIT Students, Their Supplier

2008_12_fits.jpgThe FIT students who were giggly after being busted for running a coke ring in their dorm room were serious after appearing in court. The NY Post reports that Christine Scafa and Mickenzie DIppenworth "sulked out" of the courthouse. The DA's office said after initially selling coke to an undercover cop at the W. 27th Street club Home, the students (along with alleged dealer Raymond Alameda) "hawk[ed] 'zips,' or ounces, and 'eight balls,' or one-eighth ounces, of blow for up to $400" out of the women's dorm room, until "Scafa became suspicious of a new buyer, actually an undercover cop, and refused to give him the product, even though he forked over $100." A fellow student told the Daily News, "It's sad to hear people are selling coke here. I've had too many friends who've gone down because of it with ruined lives and squandered potential." Flashback: NYU's Pot Princess, who did eventually release a single.

Eight balls don't cost $400

Certainly appears from the pics they weren't getting high on their own supply.

that's one of the ten crack commandments son!! these girls know the deal... they are true g's

"I had learned not to care. I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years. Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though. ..."

the Rockefeller laws are not pretty. mandatory 10 years for class A drug sales.

Room and board at any of FIT's Manhattan dorms runs about $10,000 a year ($833.00 a month) - on top of the roughly $11,000 a year (only if you're a New York State resident) tuition at the State University of New York institute.

Cry me a river. Cage them.

Room and board at an upstate NY prison?

Priceless.

white girls doing time. I want to watch the movie.

You'd be surprised how many kids deal in NYU dorms. Probably one on every floor.

No one would really be surprised at the number of drug dealers on a college campus. It's part of the culture. Remember what Chef said on South Park, "Children, there's a time and a place for everything and it's called college."

Also, that girl on the left looks a lot less heavy than she did in the picture from a few days ago.

"he Rockefeller laws are not pretty. mandatory 10 years for class A drug sales."

Not the case since December 2004. Even without pleading down, their charges could be a Class A-II felony which would bring 3-8 years. But likely they'll be offered something easier in exchange for testimony against the supplier. After all, they are "well heeled" young women "from good families."

This reminds me of a part in the Brazilian movie "Tropa de Elite" in which a cop goes apeshit on a smug undergrad drug dealer. "Do you know how many kids in the slums die so you party boys can get high?" he says.
I wonder if these FIT kids ever thought about that.

pretty much every daily activity we do as Americans has caused and will cause people in other countries alot of pain and suffering.

so getting high to forget about all that isnt that bad.

#16 keep drinking the kommie kool-aid.

You would think FIT students would be better dressed...

"on top of the roughly $11,000 a year (only if you're a New York State resident) tuition at the State University of New York institute."

this is incorrect. 11k seems like a good estimate for out of state tuition, but in-state for SUNY schools is a bit under 5k a year.

it was most likely crystal. you can't get coke.

The police hit a jackpot with the dealer, in regards to the drug distribution throughout the Chelsea area.
