Last Night's Action: Offensive Explosion

  • Knicks 121, Nets 109: Al Harrington had 39 points to lead the Knicks past the Nets, who entered this game 4-1 in their last five. Tim Thomas had 26 points too as the Knicks spread the wealth around. The Knicks trailed by nine at halftime, but an explosion took care of that. Devin Harris had 32 in the loss for the Nets.
  • Rangers 3, Thrashers 2 (OT): Scott Gomez only needed 15 seconds in overtime The Rangers have won eight of 13 games, but they are playing with fire. Seven of those have come in a shootout or overtime. Colton Orr and Ryan Callahan had the other tallies. Of Gomez's five goals, three have won games. The Rangers visit the Devils on Friday.
  • Devils 4, Penguins 1: Scott Clemmensen isn't making people forget Martin Brodeur, but suddenly the Devils don't feel so hopeless. He is 7-1 in his last eight starts.

You guys really need to give more love to the local colleges action. Just throw up a score, no biggie. Iona played LIU and St. Peter's played NJIT last night. Fordham plays Fairfield tonight. There's also Wagner, St. Francis, Hofstra and a few others in D-1.

Good, now all you fairweather dumbasses can stop booing Gomez.
