  • From the Gothamist Newsmap: A car into garage door at Poplar Av & Robinson St in Queens, a person struck by a police car on University Ave in the Bronx and a bank robbery at 2nd Av & E 70 St in Manhattan.
  • Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion Jr. is reportedly in the running for MANY positions in Obama's administration, like Secretary of Transportation, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, the head of the Small Business Adminstration...
  • Two young women say they were drugged (and that one was raped) at TriBeCa's Nassau Bar in a private, upstairs area. The Post adds that the bar's manager is a retired cop.
  • Socialite and fashion designer Gloria Vanderbilt can be pretty passive-aggressive, at least when it comes to son Anderson Cooper, who recounted his Thanksgiving to David Letterman.
  • The Brooklyn Music and Arts Program, NJ's Bonnie Brae Knights, and Connecticut's Trumbull High School Golden Eagle Marching Band will be in Barack Obama's inauguration parade.
  • The first sign of the future Whole Foods at 808 Columbus Avenue on the Upper West side.
  • Two Westchester high school students won second place at the Siemens math, science and technology competition for their project on "a contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging." One said of himself and his fellow fair-haired teammate, "We're breaking the blond stereotype."
  • This Pate de Fegato—duck fat english muffin bread, chicken liver mousse, fried egg, bacon—at Sorella looks damn good.
  • Mayor Bloomberg is headed to The View next week!

I was all excited about that Whole Foods opening so I wouldn't have to go back to that fucking zoo at Time Warner but then I read that they put a lot of new stores on hold. I'm believing this one is going to open anyway...

NY Post needs to get a map. Nassau Bar is east of City Hall which means it's no where near tribeca.

Incidentally, if anyone's curious, that photo was taken during a trip to Manhattanville to work on this project.

Jen, I'm supposed to take the photos for Early Addition, not appear in them...

There's been a sign at the future Whole Foods on Columbus for around six months already -- this is hardly the first indication of it.

I thought she was outside, looking in? What's she photographing, anyway? Why don't we get to see the photo she took? This is all so meta, a photograph of a photographer. I feel like Duchamp or Magritte could pop up at any moment. I'm dizzy. Catch me, Jen!

  • It's so sad to see wild photographers kept in captivity like that.

Junior, go to the dispenser and buy some peanuts to throw her.

Nassau Bar is not in TriBeCa.

I know this comment is beneath me, but I would totally hit that.
