Last Night's Action: At Least The Knicks Won!

  • San Francisco 24 Jets 14: New York has chosen the wrong time to go into a funk. Coming off a bad loss to Denver, the Jets put up another stinker, this time on the road. The Jets only managed 10 first downs and 182 yards of offense as they could not seem to find any rhythym on offense. After falling behind twice, they tied the game at 14 in the third quarter, but that was the last time they threatened. San Francisco put things away with two-consecutive scoring drives, both lasting over five minutes. New York couldn’t respond and now they are in a three-way tie for the AFC East with the Patriots and Dolphins.
  • Philadelphia 20 Giants 14: The Giants were terrible on Sunday, especially on defense. New York could not stop Philadelphia and the Eagles’ offense moved the ball when they needed to. To make matters worse, both Brandon Jacobs and Aaron Ross left the game with injuries. But, New York got some help from the Pittsburgh Steelers and clinched the NFC East title thanks to their victory over Dallas.
  • Knicks 104 Detroit 92; New York jumped out to 65-43 halftime lead and then held on against a furious Detroit rally in the second half. Chris Duhon was brilliant, scoring 25 and adding 9 assists with only two turnovers. David Lee pulled down 19 boards.
  • Calgary 3 Rangers 0: The Rangers played a better game than the other night, but the result was the same. Despite 31 shots, New York couldn’t score a goal and they were shutout for the second time in seven days.

    I heart Chris Duhon!

Garden boo-boys targeting the Ranger's team as a whole, but also booing Gomez specifically. I have no problem booing a team that is playing poorly, and the Rangers certainly looked lackluster, but booing specific players is just classless and unhelpful. Of course, this is the same building where they were chanting sloppy seconds when Phaneuf took a penalty.

Your NY Mets of football, promising to let you down when it matters most, The NY Jets!

It was awful, just awful, watching NY football yesterday. No defense at all. Could there have been any more penalties against the Jets? They were simply awful.
