This morning, two men were shot in Manhattan's Flatiron district, around East 21st Street and Broadway. WABC 7 says the incident happened outside a nightclub. Both victims, who had "non-life threatening injuries" were taken to Bellevue Hospital. Nightclub violence has come under the microscope yet again, with the Brooklyn woman last seen at Marquee (not to mention Plaxico Burress shooting himself), and yesterday the Post reported that the NYPD "eliminated specialized units focused on nightclubs, graffiti and other quality-of-life issues at some precincts, shifting those officers to regular patrols." The Manhattan units "were mostly spared" while units in the outer boroughs were "shuffled" (or cut).

You know, you're all big boys and girls. Learn from all this recent news. If you're out late at night in a club, drinking and etc., try to not overdo it. Don't leave with anyone unless you're sure it's a reasonable thing to do. Ladies, the whole "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" thing is over. There are, unfortunatley, plenty of bad people in the world, and there are enough of them that one is sure to cross your path. Fellows, don't get all tough because you're drunk and then wind up shot. All things in moderation, okay?
Typo: unfortunately.
was the perp wearing sweatpants?
Wow, I work near there! Does anyone know what nightclub it was? The news link you included in the article doesn't say.
I live on this block. It was definitely Room Service, We were woken up by 5 or 6 shots then screams and people running past our place to Broadway...It was pretty rediculous, thankfully noone was seriously injured
w.o. a doubt it was Strata on the corner...that place is straight up dangerous.
this is why i haven't gone out to a "club" since my wallet was stolen from the owner's vip at crobar two years ago after almost a decade of clubbing and never having anything even remotely similar happen.
between this & what happened at marquee to that young girl, its plain nasty.
i can only imagine the goons in these clubs!! gross!!
imagine walking by the line outside every night to get to your door, and getting woken up on a sunday night at 4am (well monday morning) to gunshots, fights and general obnoxiousness.
