Four recognizable faces from the News Channel 4 team will no longer be with the station after it was announced yesterday that their contracts are not being renewed. Sports anchor Otis Livingston, weathercaster SallyAnn Moseley, anchor Monica Morales and longtime reporter Carolyn Gusoff (pictured) were all let go by WNBC amidst cutbacks as the station transforms itself in preparation for a NY1-style 24-hour news channel. A staff member told the Post, "These are big names. These are people who are considered a central part of our team, and the news that they're going has left us lost for words. Morale is not good." And to add to the wreckage, the News notes, "Ironically, word of the cuts got out on the day that the station shot its annual group Christmas sing-along promotional spot by the tree in Rockefeller Center." Look closely for the pain behind those radiant Sue Simmons eyes (as always).

I'm skeptical as to whether there really is a need for more than one 24/7 local news channel.
You only see NY1 if you have TimeWarner Cable.
Is morale no good or is morales no good?
I heard hooters is hiring. She's got some bigguns.
agreed.
monica and carolyn can sell me wings and beer anytime.
This is the problem when you have accountants making decisions.
Boobies!
Goodbye NBC, helloooooo nurse!
:D
Seriously?
I'm not impressed. In the last six months they've compleatly gutted the morning "Today in NY" that I've watched for eight years and gotten rid of most of the GOOD reporters! The new ones just aren't cutting it...and I've since switched to CBS.
They could have doubled their ratings if they let Carolyn bend forward to a weathermap on the floor.
I will miss those tits.
If Gusoff wore that top on air, she'd still have a job.

Not true, I have Cablevision with NY1.
Everyone wants in on something newsy. Look how all the
major stations carry an Obama press conference.
As for Carolyn, a Masters in Journalism and all we can think about is what shows in that photo. Even on her
website (the obvious) there's a photo that makes you think about more than journalism. Maybe she should
work for channel "2"
