The Senate isn't the U.N. and in these very hard times, we need someone who's keyed into NY and domestic issues. She's a good person with an inimitable background but could she seriously vote on issues that affect NYS? She wouldn't represent the Kennedys, she would be representing us.

Caroline Kennedy has been active in education and wrote a book about modern privacy. That's our privacy in the modern world with data coming and going not just to the federal government, but between credit card companies, medical institutions, ect. She isn't motivated by money. Does this make her qualified to be a senator? It's hard to say because what does a senator do? Some of the greatest ones helped lead the country and the world by laws or ideals. Some were fantastic at bringing pork to their states and the hell with everyone else. Some brought politicians together to effective majorities to change things. And most were just old sheep who went along with the herd.

Yeah, yeah. I notice it's always about attacking the family, not about Caroline. I'm guessing it's because you don't have any dirt on her. But that's par for the course. I used to work during college as a doorman in a ritzy Park Ave building on 72nd Street. Before all the scandal about the randy Kennedys became public knowledge, the veteran doormen would tell me that old man Kennedy had an apartment there in the 40s-50s and bring his girlfriends there to bang. Nice family man. Along those lines, several times I sodomized the wife of one of the Skakels (Kennedy cousins, one of whom murdered his girlfriend), and felt like I had done to her what the Kennedys have been doing to this country since WW1.

Her grandfather was a major villain. He once told President Harry S Truman, that he hated FDR because he started a war that killed his oldest son. Truman never allowed him access to Oval Office again. Joseph P Kennedy Jr was the old man's choice to be President, he never really felt that Jack was as capable. I met a guy many years ago who said that Kennedy Sr., had a business meeting with this guy's father and told him that he was one of the few Jews that he liked. He had a fling with a major silent screen actress (at the time) Gloria Swanson, and he produced a movie with her, (Queen Kelly) that was a major flop and embarrassment to both of them. He told her, he could produce movies, because "if those Sheeny Tailors could do it, he could do it better".

When has Caroline Kennedy ever visited Syracuse or Buffalo? What does she even know about NY State beyond the commute from Martha's Vineyard to Long Island? Has she ever talked about higher education in Olean or Medicaid in Massena? Just who the hell is this woman?

No, it just so happens I can't stand knee-jerk Kennedy haters, that's all. Like morons who think the Office of Strategic Partnerships for the New York City Department of Education, the Fund for Public Schools, the Commission on Presidential Debates and the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund are family foundations. Sometimes you smell as bad as your namesake, EastRiver. And you can't handle any criticism without resorting to vulgarities like "fucking irrelevant." I know envy when I see it, like people who complain about "silver spoons." Practicing law is more than just hanging out a shingle or working for a firm. Do you think someone without legal expertise could serve well on the Commission on Presidential Debates? As a matter of fact, Charles Schumer never practiced law, either, by your definition. He went from school to politics and stayed there. How much legislation had Hillary written when she ran for senator that very first time? How many previous elections had she won? One more fact for "thefacts." Kennedy also happens to have a Harvard BA. As well as a law degree from Columbia.

Spititof76, you cite that Caroline Kennedy is a lawyer. Actually you cite wikipedia. Has she ever practiced law? I can't find any source yet so it sounds like she has a law degree and pays bar dues. Very compelling stuff. Has she ever written any legislation? Has she ever run for office and stood before the voters. No. She sounds like a typical socialite. Lots of money and flits around from one cause to the next. Sounds like you just have a love affair with all things related to the Kennedys and/or the Democratic Party. You can't handle the smallest amount of criticism or even a thoughtful discussion without a typical knee jerk defense, the dumbest of which is: So what have you done with your life, Mr. thefacts? Fucking irrelevant. He didn't speed dial the governor asking to be Senator. Probably didn't start in life with a silver spoon either. PS: Anyone know if it is true that the Kennedy's had Rose Kennedy's estate probated in Florida because there is no estate tax there? Now Caroline wants to 'bridge' this generation gap, Actually, she is VERY qualified: interned at the Daily News, worked in a museum, and wrote an op-ed for Obama. I don't know that much about her, but I don't think she is qualified to be our Senator. The only thing she has going is her name, Kennedy, that is,. I begin to think that the Kennedys feel entitled. Her Uncle drove off a bridge and caused the death of young woman. More than a few of her cousins are damaged goods. Let her do good things privately and let us have a more experienced person as our Senator.

Can you list her opinion on any important issue, except her own self-entitlement? Nepotism is not progressive. America is not a monarchy. New York is not Camelot. Sorry, Caroline.
