• Mourners gathered at a NJ church for the funeral of Dennis John Mallosseril, who was killed in the church by the estranged husband of a parishioner. Mallosseril was trying to intervene in their argument.

• A commission is putting together a list of nominees to replace retiring NY State's Chief Judge Judith Kaye.
• The NY State Bowling Association is suing to be reinstated by the U.S. Bowling Congress. The NYSBA's charter was revoked after a manager was accused of embezzling almost $275,000.
• Civil rights lawyer Norman Siegel tells the Politicker his third bid to be Public Advocate (in next year's election) will be his last: "If you want Norman Siegel to be your public advocate, if you want my kind of activism, social justice, change, this is it. If we don’t do it this time, we’re not going to have Norman Siegel as the public advocate."
