this is cool & all but i wish the mta would focus on the nostalgic trains that i prefer, the much-missed "running normally and on time #4 train" and the "doesn't stink like pee at 9 in the morning #6 train"

those are pre graffiti days, I too remember the rattan wicker seats when I went on a class trip and dislodged one of the cushions. also remember the candy and ice cream vending machines in the subway. I wish I had more memories but I was too young.

I think those trains were retired pre-graffiti. I remember in the summer, those wicker seats would leave an imprint on the back of everyone's legs. And the wicker had a lacquer-ish finish so it was really sticky. ANd it was 100+ degrees. Ah! Memories...

This seems like a big waste of money. Next time, try to get someone to sponsor it, to get some revenue. Say the Nostalgia Train sponsored by [insert name of company here].

I seem to remember those old trains always had a strange, sort of musty smell inside them.

Last Thursday, I got to ride on a "nostalgia" train on the E line. The thing was covered in rust and scratchitti and it felt like it was going to fall the fuck apart when it picked up speed in the tunnel under the East River. 1992 all over again!

I just got back from a trip to Chicago where my friends were all bragging about their Holiday train. This isn't quite as festive, but pretty cool. Now I'm-a have to go out of my way to catch the damn V train.

Yeah so this is cool and all, but again I have to wonder how much money it took that MTA riders will eventually have to pay for. Anyone got a real figure on that?
