Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress, who appears to be in a heap of trouble after shooting himself with an unlicensed handgun at a nightclub yesterday, will apparently turn himself into authorities and plead not guilty to charges tomorrow. Word of this came from Burress's new layer, Benjamin Brafman, the same man who represented and helped acquit Diddy (several identities ago when he was Puff Daddy) after he was charged with having an unlicensed weapon at a club in 1999. Giants owner John Mara told reporters that the league and team officials met with players before the season to discuss the complications of owning firearms. Mara said, “Players, for whatever reason, feel the need to carry guns. It’s not something that we’re particularly pleased about, but that is the choice that they make."

If the gun is unregistered, he's got to give up whoever got it for him. In these cases, the authorities should always get to that source, as well.

Clearing a weapon is simple and a vital skill if you plan to own one. Never mind walking around with a round in the chamber and the safety off ( assuming it had a safety). No one does that. Well I must correct my self, I have only seen combat zone deployed seals etc do it. but they know guns like Plax knows fade routes.

i'm just glad he didn't shoot pierce. that would have been terrible. this is just a temporary distraction. they'll cut him and get their money back. there are nfl rules that say players are not allowed to carry unregistered weapons so they should have no problem. this guy has to be one of the dumbest individuals on earth.
This is such a terrible waste. With the price of ammo going up all the time to waste just one is a tragedy.
I forgot to ask the question. Why is he waiting until tomorrow? Does he expect to play in tonight's Monday night football? Shouldn't he be arrested like normal people?
