Help Find Missing Key Lime Pie Pup

2008_11_mango.jpgSteve Tarpin, who runs Steve's Key Lime Pies in Brooklyn, has been looking for his missing dog since Saturday. Mango, a Jack Russell terrier, was last seen outside Jake's BBQ and the B-61 Bar, at the corner of Degraw and Columbia Streets in Red Hook, where he often sat, greeting other dogs and customers--more details here. Tarpin tells the Post, "Absolutely someone took him. He would never walk away with anyone. Even if they were dragging a T-bone behind them he wouldn't go." He adds on his website, "If indeed some nefarious naerdowell did scoop him off, I am asking the good people of Brooklyn to assist in returning Mango to his rightful home and his rightful routine with our family and friends, including his 32 children, his partner Mammey and us."

Mango is a gem. I sometimes walk my dogs down Columbia to B61 knowing that play time with Mango will make their days. Whoever did this is soulless.

I worry about this sort of thing as I hear a lot of stories about tied up dogs at shops being stolen, especially small dogs.

Lets Find who did this, and lets get Mango home.

Bad idea to leave a dog unattended, particularly a cute, smallish one. Are they sure this dog didn't go after a female in heat? From what I understand, this dog having 32 children, he can't have been fixed, and is thus not inured to the charms of a bitch in heat. No male dog is. T-bone, nothing. Nature calls when nature calls.

Good luck, seriously. I hope he's found, and has only been having a roll in the hay.

There is no way that Mango wandered off. It is always a pleasure to see him waiting outside of Jake's for some food or enjoying a Guiness at B61. I hope that he is found safely.

@soulless is right, to steal someone's dog, also some dogs are on medications and when they steal dogs they endangered the dogs' lives and break up families. sickening

I am the proud owner of of one of Mango and Mammey's gorgeous, intelligent and well mannered offspring. It's difficult to look into his beautiful brown eyes and not see the sparkle of his father. This disappearance is KILLING me.

@ Future Taliban ""ne'erdowell", thanks for the correction, I liiked for a proper spelling but couldn't find one.

Thanks all for the positive comments, some who don't know Mango and the life he lives don't quite understande the "unleashed" aspect of this story. We'll get him back.

@ sofabait, thanks E.

poor doggie,
you know I'm a cat lover but I also love good doggies. mango looks like a good dog.
hope he returns home soon. if he lived his life unleashed, his instincts will get him home.
