Video of the Day: Post More Bills

Ever want to post a bill on one of the city's walls only to find a Post No Bills sign standing in your way? Well the Post More Bills campaign is turning it all around. They claim "There is no hidden program, there is no bigger meaning, other than to spreading Bills far and wide and bring a bit of playful relief in our visually saturated media environment." And hey look, that American Apparel billboard is finally gone.

If you've got that rebel without a cause itch, you can download their Post More Bills signs (which include images of Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Bill Murray and all of your other favorite Bills), stir up some wheatpaste and join in. Just be on the lookout for The Man, who can fine you under New York's poster laws.

Bill also means William - how clever.

Why are these people acting like they just saved the world.

(Nice American Apparel hoodie grace)

Wait...oh, I get it! Bills! As in, both an old term for flyers and a shortened version of William!

Man, ironic wordplay...what will they think of next?

(maybe it will be sarcasm. 'cause we could TOTALLY use more of that. sarcasm never gets old.)

The video seems more like self-promotion than promoting the campaign. After watching and visiting their website, I still don't know what the point is.

Whatever you might think of the posting of these Bill's I just wanted to note that this has been going on in Toronto for nearly 10 years.

I've seen it done using both paper and stencils... but never a big banner. I wonder if the "More Bills" crew have ever taken the trip north?
