@r1b2 - LGA has a couple things going for it. It's faster to get to from midtown and if you have an evening flight you don't get stuck in line for takeoff behind 50 international flights.

well the good thing about jfk is i usually just want to get home, and i can hop in a cab and spend about 25 bucks with tip.

now, if i was at jfk, they have that sick and crazy rip-off system of a whopping FORTY-FIVE DOLLAR flat fare!!! It should be metered and then the meter should just stop at 45. Ridiculous that everyone has to pay that.

"LGA is awful. Even though I live in downtown Bklyn, I almost always fly through EWR. It's much more efficient, everything is faster and more comfortable."

I agree it's better, but factor in the travel time and cost to get there and it evens out for me.

I'd rather have an airport that's clean and gets you through security quickly and has comfortable seats in the waiting areas. . . I really have no idea if LGA is anything like that though

It isn't anything like that. The corridors leading from the main terminal to the gates were narrow to begin with. Now they're crammed with three lanes of x-ray machines and metal detectors. Now toss in people taking their shoes on and off. Once the line backs up it has nowhere to go.

"seems like it's out of the 1960s."

That's sort of a compliment, isn't it? I mean, LGA opened in 1939, so compared to that the 1960s are positively MODERN!

OK, not really. But personally, I'd rather have an airport that's clean and gets you through security quickly and has comfortable seats in the waiting areas than, like, massage people or some shit.

I really have no idea if LGA is anything like that though - it's so hard to get to that I'd never fly out of there; it's easier to get to Newark for fuck's sake.

I haven't flown for a while now, but once I came to LAX, and there were just a handful of immigration booths open. Our plane was ok, but right after us, I guess a couple of 747s from Asia came and the line was ridiculous... and this was waaaay before 9/11...

I have been to Tampa's airport and I thought it had the same charm as Tampa's domed baseball stadium. At least the terminal I went through wasn't cramped like LGA.

I guess LaGuardia is "big" because of the number of flights that go in and out, but I actually appreciate it for it's relatively small size. It's an easy terminal to get around, and of the 10 or so times I've flown in and out, including holidays, I've never had a problem. As long as I can get in and out on time I don't really care what the airport looks like or if I can get a massage.

JFK is hard to put a number on. All the terminals are so different. The new Jetblue terminal is awesome.

Laguardia is depressing. It's the Penn Station of airports. Low ceilings, bad lighting, weird and cold combination of tiles and shiny chrome.
