It seems Obama's plan is to throw money at the problem. I would like to see our President-elect directly address the inherent contradiction Americans are getting from their elected leaders: Americans need to spend to stimulate the economy, but we also need to save because our 401K plans have lost most of their value, and our Social Security savings have been spent by the government.

If you factor in all the accounting tricks to inflate GDP it looks even more bleak.
