HOLIDAY: Today marks the opening of the 7th Annual Holiday Train Show, presented by the NY Transit Museum. Head over to Grand Central to get a peek at the "first models of MTA equipment-- Metro-North M7 railroad cars and New York City Transit R27 subway cars...along with a new scale model of the Brooklyn Bridge, an elevated trestle, six new buildings, and an underground subway that is twice as large as last year." DISCUSSION: The Gotham Center continues their Gotham History Forum Series tonight with The City's End: Two Centuries of Fantasies, Fears, and Premonitions of New York's Destruction. "Professor Max Page offers critical historical perspective" and discusses "New York’s development over the past century, visions of how the city would be demolished, blown up, swallowed by the sea, or toppled by monsters have proliferated in films and science fiction novels, photography, painting, graphic arts, television advertisements, postcards, cartoons, and computer software."

PANEL: The Paley Center presents Sitcom Revolution: Taking it to the Web tonight, with Kathleen Grace, Thom Woodley and Ana Veselic, all from The Burg and The All-for-Nots. Also on hand are Burg cast members Bob McClure, Kelli Giddish and Jeff Skowron and many many more. They'll be discussing "the internet's role as a legitimate purveyor of entertainment" as it continues to grow.

EVENT: LVHRD is back with a Master-Disaster FSHNDL V event. "For those of you who haven't been to a FSHNDL in the past, it's a timed fashion design competition where two designers create clothes on a live model out of a surprise material." So, like Project Runway but totally unedited and in your face. For all attendess: they ask that you dress for the end of the world, so get your best apocalyptic chic get-up together. The MTA store at Grand Central always has interesting exhibits. The toy train sets at Christmas are excellent. Not nearly as extravagant as the one at the Citicorp building but certainly worth a visit.
