Center for Immigration Studies is Mark Krikorian's anti-immigration think tank. It's weird to see them quoted as though they're a neutral source and not surprising they would want to downplay violence against immigrants, but hey, they gave you a quote so who cares what their agenda is!

It's sad that this guy was killed. And it's also sad how easy it is for something like that to happen: A community feels threatened by the invasion of illegals and the tax burden they bring, next thing you know that turns into hatred and they become Hitler's soldiers doing ethnic cleansing...

Stupidity, violence and ethnic chauvinism are constants independent of race. The truth is that the mechanisms or peaceful socialization are by and large more observeable in contemporary White culture which makes a case like this more newsworthy than the daily violence in inner city black and latino communities.

they dont look like kids to me...17 years old, they murdered someone, they should go away, forever. At the risk of generalizing, White people I've meet from Long Island seem to be more racist than people from the city...this case only confirms it for me....all I can say, wtf Long Island...grow up.

Provincialism is a huge in the states. People think that by speaking english and having some anglo last name makes a whole set of civilized attributes for them but this case show how far from civilized these "vigilantes" are. Provincial views, ignoring the fact that the idea of nations and borders redefined in global times is just the way of action of those that can not understand change. This racist bunch are just doomed do loose: read a news paper, and hopefully you can even start to understand the stories in the international news, that BTW are way more relevant to their very limited idea of what the world is.

i think i knew at about nine years old not to kill people, and i certainly understood the putridness of racism. these kids should go to jail, and if people believe they are too young, then their parents and teachers should be in jail too.
