LeBron's biggest concern at this point isn't money - it's making sure he doesn't get remembered as yet another great player who never won a ring. Clearing the cap space is all well and good, but if you're not simultaneously putting together a team that he can win with, it's a waste of time. In that regard, the Nets are actually doing a better job than the Knicks are.

WOW! first of all this is dumb cause Lebron James is not stupid enough to come to NY. No one is. I remember when they all thought MJ or Kobe would come to NY. It's called leverage people. Lebron will go to chicago. So the Knicks will offer a max contract to Lebron and LBJ will turn it down cause he'll get a max contract somewhere else because nobody wants to play in NY. Then the Knicks will offer a max contract to a big name who used to be good but has declined like Dwayne Wade and the cycle of futility will start all over again.
