<description>&lt;p&gt;The base is indeed covered in foam and the corners are not sharp. The &quot;ice&quot; however, doesn&apos;t quite feel like ice. My friend and I can both hold our own on ice, but struggled at the Polar Rink. Skates tend to slide outwards, as the surface doesn&apos;t really provide the same &quot;bite&quot; as real ice. One of the staff members there told me it took him two days to really get used to it and another said it took a full half-day. Cute location and quite quiet for a Saturday night though :)&lt;/p&gt;</description>
