Store Owner Fatally Shoots Two Robbers in Brooklyn

2008_11_nolef.jpgPolice believe three robbers confronted a shop owner in Brooklyn's Wingate neighborhood and the situation ended with two of the robbers dead. The Daily News reports that Youssouf Brame managed to fire at the armed robbers, leaving "one bandit...dead" and "another [running] from the store bleeding from a fatal chest wound" (a third suspect escaped). Brame was shot in the stomach, and it's unclear who may have fired first. Brame's store, at 1051 Nostrand Avenue and Lefferts, is described as a variety-store, and a neighbor told the NY Times that Brame "would always talk with everybody, he was so friendly." Brame underwent surgery and is in critical but stable condition.

Good! Two out of three ain't bad.

I wouldn't say good to anyone being shot and killed but robbers today better know that store owners ain't getting robbed without a fight! Like the Wu-Tang clan said, "You got guns, I got guns too!"

Damn! Dude got shot in the stomach and still got two of the robbers! That's one tough mofo.

Watch... the robbers families will sue...

Sorry that one of them lived. Better luck next time.

I am always heartened by stories of New Yorkers fighting back against crime.

I hope the city does the right thing and reduces the ridiculous fees and red tape associated with getting a gun permit in New York. It shouldn't cost us close to $500 to exercise our Constitutional rights.

Where's Charles Bronson when you need him? The City needs Paul Kersey.

This guy deserves a medal. Make it two medals.

great, since the third one got away now the store owner has to keep looking over his shoulder for the revenge payback.

Damn it feels good to be a gangsta!

good job, mr. brame,
some of us in the community are behind you 100 percent. we hope for a speedy recovery.

See, this is why the founding father created the second amendment (among other reasons) is to fight back injustices.

I seriously think New York would be even safer if Gun Laws were less restricted.

The Criminal Element can't do much when every person around them is loaded.

"Wingate" is the name of a neighborhood? Tragic story.

I seriously think New York would be even safer if Gun Laws were less restricted.

I had a shitty day and you stepped on my shoe during rush hour. Boom boom right in your head. Guns for all ... brilliant idea.
