a/ she already has international experience swapping spit with Suha Arafat and Wiener's beard, Huma. b/ Bill would be able to use her appointment to grab even more foreign gash / cash as they travel the world (this could be a problem for THE ONE as he will again need major international $ to run his 2012 run for leader for life). c/ it's not a stepping stone to the WH, it's a skipping stone to the UN where she can eventually rule the world.

#2 and #4, I agree that Reid lacks leadership qualities and should be replaced. However, there are many democrats that served much more time in the Senate that are more deserving than Hillary for the leadership position. #3, I believe the window has closed on Hill as president since she'll be in her late 60s in 2016. (Obama is the incumbent in 2012). I don't even see Obama naming her VP in 2012 when Biden will likely retire or be asked to leave.

#2 wins the pot. Hillary should go after Harry Reid's job as Majority Leader. He's awful and she would at least look better than him in pantsuits. Bring me that Bill Richardson...

but if she were to be the secretary of state, she would be more invested in a positive outcome for the administration - meaning no run for the presidency in 2012 if Obama fails. i just can't imagine that she wouldn't have misgivings about giving up on that possibility (not necessarily assuming that would be the primary factor in her decision though).

It's difficult to imagine that a politician of her ambition would not want to represent the United States on the world's stage. She'd have much more power and authority as Senate Majority Leader.
