#1, I know you may not be interested in inconvenient truths, but I'd be willing to wager that the shooter(s) in question did not bother with the lengthy and expensive process of purchasing their guns in compliance with the onerous gun laws of NYC. No, they just bought the guns illegally on the street, which is, of course, precisely the same thing they would do even if there were an outright ban on handguns. Well-intentioned gun control laws that make it "just a teensy bit harder to get a handgun" simply ensure that law-abiding citizens go unarmed while criminals rule the streets. I fail to see how this is helpful.
