Police are searching for gunmen who fired onto people at a Bronx house party, killing a 17-year-old girl and injuring two others. According to NY1, the suspects were angry after being turned away from the party (whose hostess even had guests frisked at the door) at 1495 Morris Avenue around 2 a.m. yesterday morning. The Post says the suspects probably "waited outside to get revenge," and during a fight, Nadaire Walters, 17, was shot in the chest. The gunfire scared the crowd, and the NY Times reports Walters was "trampled": A neighbor who heard six shots said, "The girl fell, and they all trampled her trying to get back into the building. They came back out and dragged her back into the building, but she was already dead.”

Hello, NRA, don't you think this could have been avoided if it were just a teensy bit harder to get a handgun?
The names may change, but the game remains the same.
no guns at this party, sorry. i don't want the party to end with gunshots.
i can't believe she won't let us in cause we have guns.
yeah, let's teach her a lesson.
blam blam blam blam blam blam
this is truly awful
Gotta keep it gangsta with the guns.
Boogie nights again!!!
#1, I know you may not be interested in inconvenient truths, but I'd be willing to wager that the shooter(s) in question did not bother with the lengthy and expensive process of purchasing their guns in compliance with the onerous gun laws of NYC.
No, they just bought the guns illegally on the street, which is, of course, precisely the same thing they would do even if there were an outright ban on handguns.
Well-intentioned gun control laws that make it "just a teensy bit harder to get a handgun" simply ensure that law-abiding citizens go unarmed while criminals rule the streets. I fail to see how this is helpful.
