#1- now you hate mcCain? if you watched CNN you would have know mCCain was going to turn Dem but backed out at the last minute a couple of years ago. The republicans are in shambles cause the base wants a right wing nutjub but the moderates know they can't win without someone down the middle. So do you put all your eggs in palin for 2012 and lose by 5 points again or do you look for another mcCain who goes against the base's beliefs. This mirrors what happened to the dems in 2000 and 2004 but left wing instead
