Giuliani Won't Rule Out Running for Gov (or Prez!)

Rudy Giuliani spoke at a conference in Dubai over the weekend (perhaps commanding his $100,000+perks speaking fee) and perhaps kicked off his campaign for something.

What that is, no one knows, but when asked about 2012, he said "No one knows whether you'll do something again until you come to the point of: 'Is it possible to do it again? Would you have a chance of winning?' I mean those are just things you can't evaluate right now." And when someone brought up running for governor, the former mayor of NYC said, "I don't know if I'd be interested in it, but I'll think about it when the right time comes along."

He also referred to how the GOP lost its bid for the presidency in the context of the economy, "If you had told me a year ago we would have a major economic crisis, I would've told you it would be very hard for any Republican ... to win." In other words: The 9/11 card is getting old! As for whether he'd take a job in the Obama administraiton "You never answer questions like that hypothetically. Very few people ever turn the president down, but that's an unrealistic situation." How great would it be to see Giuliani with Joe Biden, who famously quipped that Giuliani only says, "three things in a sentence: A noun, a verb and 9/11."

"which apology are you going to use for the Clintons 'making' over $100 million in eight years?"

Not gonna make any, because, just like you, I know nothing about it. I'm sure the Obama administration will perform a most thorough and competent due diligence. Do you think Hillary would have run for president idf she felt they had some crazy skeletons in their closet they needed to hide? The main issue is in ironing out issues of conflict of interest now that Bill is a private citizen. Did you even read th article you linked to, you imbecile?

Saying the Clintons are oligarchs betrays either a) not knowing what the word means or b) being completely dishonest. In your case it's probably both.

Sarah Palin is a joke who has contributed nothing to this country save for SNL fodder. Giuliani is a grave dancing profiteer. Comparing them to the Clintons is asinine.

Get over the whole Clinton thing already, it really makes you look like a douche.

That's ironic for a website who that still runs about one Sarah Palin article a day two weeks after the election and that kept piling on Giuliani long after he dropped out of the primaries. And you're one of the regular contributors so to act like you're above it all SP is a joke.

Of course, I'm sure you already read this:

Clinton Vetting Includes Look at Mr. Clinton

And seeing how one of the biggest issues of the campaign was the rich getting richer which apology are you going to use for the Clintons "making" over $100 million in eight years?

  • REALITY CHECK

I'm sick of Republicans saying they couldn't have foreseen the crisis. They're supposedly the fiscal experts. Bloomberg is notably guilty of this too.

    Look at this link:

    www.slideshare.net/robertocr/the-economist-covers-30-presentation

It shows many, many warnings about the financial crisis from the most well-known and respected business and world economics magazine.

Note the dates, in particular the issue from October of 2004, the one that says "Scares ahead for the world economy." That's *four* years ago, people. It wasn't too difficult to see this coming.

Wait till you see what'll happen in the next three years.

    President? HAHAHAHA!

You have to love the delirious and delusional!

  • RedWhiteandBrooklyn

LOL! As a Democrat, all I can say is: "PLEASE, Rudy... run!" This narcissistic pantload spent how many millions of dollars and lined up a single delegate in the repug primary? It will be a pleasure working to beat him again.

  • SP

Oh, and the Clintons are very small fish. In Dubai they would be considered peasants indeed.

  • SP

Puuhhhhleeeeeze. If Bill and Hillary's alleged transgressions were our biggest problem right now, we would have very little to worry about. Need I remind you of the economic apocalypse we are facing that has everything to do with republican led financial deregulation?

"The Commerce Department said Friday that retail sales fell by 2.8 percent last month, surpassing the old mark of a 2.65 percent drop in November 2001 in the wake of the terrorist attacks that year."

Get over the whole Clinton thing already, it really makes you look like a douche.

What a dipwad! Rudy - you're frightening. We don't want you to represent us ever again.

  • EastRiver

He should stay in Dubai. Plutocrats and oligarchs are his type of people.

Maybe he'll cross paths with Bill Clinton somewhere in the Middle East. I hope Bill's post-Presidency dirty dealings finally get some sunlight if Hillary has to go through a Senate confirmation. Apparently, Bill and Hillary will let the transition team see their financial statements but not us peasants.

  • Goody

    stop playing lil rudy.

    enough is enough.

  • Dirk

President... Governor... a position in the Obama administration... Big dreams for such a little man.

  • virgil

I demand that he run. He hasn't had the pleasure of finding out what the majority of people really think of him. In the presidential and Senate race, he dropped out before anyone voted. I don't want him to fade away. I want a Palin-level spotlight on him and his remarkable awfulness.

  • JMH

On the other hand, the fact that nobody likes him probably rules him out from running for governor.

  • NannyState

He's too stupid to realize that he's only an appointee. And McCain lost so appoint him to the board of directors at Bear Stearns.

  • Rocknrope

Americans are willing to overlook a lot of personal foibles nowadays, unlike the Gary Hart 80s, but this guy's train wreck of a family life is a real disgrace.

  • bobmatnyc

"How great would it be to see Giuliani..."

After that atrocious RNC convention speech this year, I have no desire to see or hear from Giuliani again.

  • cucarachita

In his dreams. Hasn't he figured out that creepy old coots like him are no longer the future?

  • blackwhole

I remember Rudy saying he was running for President, then never actually participating in any primaries. Wouldn't that be the reason he failed?

  • nycviabos

I, 9/11, hope to someday run, 9/11, again for higher, 9/11, office, 9/11.
